Terms of Use

Last updated: May 10, 2026

These terms govern use of the idiome.app website and the Idiome mobile app. By using the service, you accept them.

1. Purpose

Idiome is a vocabulary discovery service: one rare and exact word per week, to integrate into real life before receiving the next. The service is free.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account or using the app, you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you disagree, do not use the service.

3. User account

Creating an account is optional. If you do:

4. Acceptable use

You agree to:

5. User content

The integration sentences you write are yours. You grant Idiome a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence solely to display this content in your personal history and to back it up. No user content is made public or shared without your explicit consent.

If you choose to share publicly (e.g. via the social sharing feature), you explicitly authorise that sharing and remain responsible for the published content.

6. Intellectual property

The name Idiome, the logo, design, editorial word selection, definitions, examples and illustrations are protected by copyright and trademark law. Any reproduction, modification or redistribution without written permission is prohibited.

7. Availability

Idiome is provided “as is”. The publisher endeavours to ensure maximum service availability, without being able to contractually guarantee it. Maintenance interruptions or those related to sub-processors (Apple, Google, Vercel, Supabase, OpenAI) are notified where possible.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Idiome shall not be liable for:

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the app settings. This deletion results in erasure of your personal data as described in the privacy policy.

Idiome reserves the right to suspend or delete an account in the event of a clear violation of these terms, with notice where reasonably possible.

10. Changes

These terms may evolve. Any substantial change is notified by email (if you have an account) or by in-app notification before taking effect. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and after seeking an amicable resolution, French courts have exclusive jurisdiction.

In accordance with article L.612-1 of the French Consumer Code, you may, at your expense, resort to a consumer mediator. List at economie.gouv.fr/mediation-conso.
