About Idiome

The right word, every week.

Idiome is a mobile app (iOS, Android) that sends one word per week. A rare word, chosen for its precision rather than its frequency. You receive it every Monday morning at 9:00, with a card that shows how to use it in conversation and in writing. You have seven days to weave it into your real life. When the word belongs to you, the next one unlocks.

The idea

Most vocabulary apps optimize for volume: flashcards to memorize, lists to complete, streaks to maintain. Idiome bets the opposite way. One word per week, deeply integrated, is worth more than a hundred words skimmed over. Language is not a stockpile to accumulate: it is a material you learn to handle.

Idiome offers a slow, calm, editorial approach. No dashboard. No score. No guilt-inducing streak. No mascot to congratulate you. Five screens, and that's all: the word of the week, the card, the celebration when you've used it, a card to share, the history.

How it works

Three gestures, seven days.

  1. You receive a word. Every Monday morning at 9:00. Just one. Rare and precise.
  2. You use it. At work, at dinner, in a message. The card shows you how.
  3. You make it yours. When the word belongs to you, the next one unlocks.

Who it's for

Idiome is for adults sensitive to language, whether French or English speakers: readers, people who write daily (work email, personal message, public speech), people curious about rare and precise words. The profiles who find apps like Duolingo or Anki either patronizing or too academic.

This is not a tool to learn a foreign language from scratch. This is not a tool for exam or standardized test prep. This is not an app trying to maximize your screen time.
